This morning we heard from exodus the 10 commandments, and it reminds me of a principle that my spiritual director taught me. Leisure time should be re-creative, meaning the time of rest and leisure should give us energy for the rest of the things that we do. The Lord calls us to rest on Sunday’s, the Lord’s day, it can be easy to want to either work work work or the other extreme sit around and do nothing all day. I know in my own life I have to find a right balance between working hard and time of leisure. I’ve always made leisure time a priority on Sunday’s even when I’m swamped with things on my schedule. God calls us to make Sunday Holy, use Sunday as an opportunity to get good re-creation.
